Tennessee Gas Pipeline Company, a subsidiary of El Paso Corporation, plans to increase the capacity of its 300 Line to transport new diversified natural gas supplies, including newly accessed Appalachian and Marcellus shale gas to serve the growing demand for interstate natural gas transmission service in the northeastern United States.

“Oil companies’ gulf spill history is a dirty secret.”
The oil and gas industry’s offshore safety and environmental record in the Gulf of Mexico has become a key point of debate over future drilling, but that record has been far worse than is commonly portrayed by many industry leaders and lawmakers.

Tennessee Gas Pipeline (Tennessee) is one of the five interstate pipelines that make up El Paso Corporation’s Pipeline Group. Tennessee is comprised of approximately 14,200 miles and 1.4mm certificated horsepower.
The pipeline stretches from the Mexican border to Canada. Tapping supply regions in the Gulf of Mexico, Texas, Appalachia, and Canada, the Tennessee system serves markets across the Midwest and mid-Atlantic regions, including major metropolitan centers such as Chicago, New York, and Boston.
(Editor’s Note. 4 Dec 2023) The Tennessee Gas Pipeline is still controversial.

In New Jersey, climate activists held a nonviolent civil disobedience protest Monday at the construction site of a fracked gas expansion project. If completed, the East 300 Upgrade Project would expand the flow of methane through Kinder Morgan’s aging Tennessee Gas Pipeline. Among those detained by police at Monday’s protest was Paula Rogovin, a longtime environmentalist and peace activist, who called on New Jersey’s Democratic Governor Phil Murphy to cancel the project.

You promised environmental justice! You promised clear air, clean water. And what do you do? You allow this lousy compressor station to be built. You allow pipelines.”
Police officer: “You’re under arrest. Come on.”

A controversial natural gas pipeline project in the state’s northern Highlands is in limbo after court officials nullified a key exemption to the region’s strict development regulations.
New Jersey Superior Court Appellate Division judges, in an opinion issued Thursday, invalidated an exemption to Highlands Preservation Area regulations granted to the Tennessee Gas Pipeline Company for its East 300 Upgrade Project. New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection officials have previously issued the exemption on the grounds that the proposed $108 million compressor station in the Highlands Preservation Area in West Milford was a “routine upgrade” to the utility’s existing pipeline system.
The $246 million East 300 Upgrade Project includes the installation of two new natural gas compressor units in Pennsylvania and Sussex County and the construction of an all-new compressor station complex in West Milford. Under development in a former quarry near Monksville Reservoir, the complex is due to include a 19,000-horsepower electric compressor, a 3,500-square-foot office with a septic system and a 69-kilovolt electrical substation, records show.

New Jersey is a Communist state, controlled by Communists from the Governor on down to radical judges packing its courts. Yesterday, three Commie judges from the Superior Court of NJ ruled that the state Dept. of Environmental Protection (DEP) should not have issued an exemption to the Highlands Act to Tennessee Gas Pipeline (TGP) to build a new compressor station in West Milford. The compressor is part of the TGP East 300 expansion project, an upgrade of TGP to deliver an extra 115 MMcf/d of natural gas to Consolidated Edison and its customers in New York City and surrounding suburbs. East 300 is a FERC-approved project (see FERC Issues Compressor Permits for TGP’s East 300 Upgrade in NY, NJ).

Run by Jim Willis, [Marcellus Drilling News)MDN has compared multiple fracking critics — everyone from state attorneys general to climate scientists to a group representing 16,000 doctors and medical students — to Nazis.
One of Willis’s apparent favorite images, used to accompany more than two dozen articles, shows a bright green man wearing a gas mask, surrounded by a garish rainbow, with a giant swastika on his chest. “Enviro-Nazis Say Marcellus Pipelines Equal Global Warming,” a headline to one such piece reads.
Willis also used the image next to his commentary on attorneys general investigating Exxon for potentially misleading investors about risks associated with climate change — or what Willis called “[u]nbridled, Nazi-like powers against private citizens and private companies by a state run amok…”
How about the Pennsylvania Medical Society, founded in 1848 and representing 16,000 doctors and medical students across the state?
That’s “controlled by a small and dedicated group of radical leftists” and “shockingly stupid,” Marcellus Drilling News said in a post adorned with the swastika graphic and decrying the group’s call for a ban on fracking in Pennsylvania.
